One-of-a-Kind Textile Panels & Wearable Art Scarves in Golden Angkorian Silk
Royal Karkhana is honoured to serve as the official Ambassador for Golden Silk Pheach, presenting to a select circle of collectors, connoisseurs, and cultural investors a finite collection of Angkorian Ikat and Brocade Masterpieces. These pieces are not simply textiles—they are living heritage, handwoven in pure golden silk by Cambodia’s most revered female master artisans.
Each Masterpiece is a one-of-a-kind creation, conceptualised and designed by Oum Pheach, and brought to life through meticulous work spanning six months to two years. These artworks are available either as textile panels, ideal for display or framing, or as wearable art scarves, honouring the traditional forms while embracing contemporary expression.
The silk used in these masterpieces is cultivated using time-honoured Angkorian sericulture, from golden cocoon to loom. Every step of the process, from spinning to dyeing and weaving, is done by hand using natural dyes and sustainable practices. No chemical fertilisers, pesticides, or insecticides are ever used. The result is a textile imbued with ancestral knowledge, unmatched tactility, and ethical integrity.
These works reflect the essence of Royal Karkhana’s philosophy: to revive material culture, uphold traditional artisanry, and offer genuine rarity to those who value the soul behind the craft.
At Golden Silk Pheach, over 100 previously underprivileged and marginalised Cambodian women have been trained through a rigorous 8-year-long educational programme, focused on traditional sericulture techniques and the historic art of handmade Angkorian ikat and brocade weaving.
This initiative not only revives ancient knowledge but builds confident artisans, offering career paths across the entire process chain, from silk cultivation to final weaving. Each woman is empowered to create wearable masterpieces that preserve her culture while achieving economic stability and creative fulfilment.
A very limited number of Royal Karkhana & Golden Silk Pheach Masterpieces are made available for acquisition. This process is by application only, to ensure alignment between the artwork and its future custodian.
We also invite you to enquire about the acquisition of the Zarmānī Choker, a landmark collaboration between Shanane Jay & Golden Silk Pheach, currently featured at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, Paris.
