Shanane Jay’s dedication to reviving the lost art of Rajput precious gemstone bangles continues with this exceptional piece, meticulously crafted from rare crystalline purplish-grey Chalcedony. Adorned with natural untreated diamonds (0.50 ct.) in 21kt gold Kundan settings, this bangle reflects the pinnacle of Mughal-era lapidary craftsmanship.
For over a thousand years, gemstone bangles were the preferred choice of India’s royal and aristocratic elite, before the artform faded into history with the rise of glass and mass production. Now, this exquisite revival honors the precision and mastery of those past artisans, requiring a labor-intensive process of sourcing, grading, and shaping natural gemstone rough into a seamless, polished bangle.
Each bangle takes months to create, requiring approximately 30 kilograms of raw Chalcedony to find a single piece of superior clarity and quality. Using ancient hand tools, artisans carefully shape the stone before setting untreated natural diamonds in luminous 21kt gold Kundan, a technique perfected in the Mughal courts.
A rare and timeless treasure, the Rajput Crystalline Chalcedony Bangle is a statement of elegance, history, and artisanal brilliance.
This bangle is available in extremely limited quantities, each one an heirloom piece for collectors and connoisseurs of fine, historical jewelry.
